Mental Health Advisory Council

The Minnesota State Advisory Council on Mental Health is a 30-citizen group, appointed by the governor, that represents consumers, family members, advocates, providers, elected officials, state department representatives and others from around the state.

The basic mission of the State Advisory Council is to “advise the Governor and heads of state departments and agencies about policy, programs, and services affecting people with mental illness.” In addition, the council educates the public about mental health and the needs and potential of people with psychiatric diagnoses. Wendy Rea, a CSN St. Cloud Regional Resource Center Coordinator, serves as the Chair of the State Advisory Council.
