Road Tours: DEED Plans Visits to 11 Minnesota Communities

Event Date:
Tuesday, June 22, 2010 - 8:00am - Wednesday, August 18, 2010 - 12:00pm

It’s that time of year again. The Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) is going back on the road this summer to meet with its partners around the state. Knowing the importance of employment, particularly the Extended Employment Program for People with a Serious Mental Illness (EE-SMI), all NAMI members are encouraged to attend and voice your support for this program and the need for more employment programs. Be sure to mention that work is an evidence-based practice meaning that research demonstrates that work helps people in their recovery.

DEED Commissioner Dan McElroy and other agency leaders will visit 11 cities over an eight-week period starting in June. Commissioner McElroy will also discuss the state of the Minnesota economy and give an overview of the 2010 legislative session.

There will be plenty of time for questions and answers. Please register to attend one of their road shows!
