Karrie grew up in Little Falls and, after attending Central Lakes College in Brainerd, has continued to make her Little Falls her home.
Diagnosed at age 6 with Attention Deficient Disorder and five years ago with Bipolar Disorder, Karrie first became involved with CSN as the recipient of a grant to attend the Wellness and Recovery Conference. In the summer of 2008 her husband encouraged her to apply for a job at CSN and has been enjoying her work helping consumers ever since.
“CSN is about recovery,” Karrie says. “The most important part of my work is helping people realize that you can recover from mental illness. You don’t have to live in your illness. There is a good life for us.”
Morrison County Drop-in Center has much to offer including WRAP and a variety of support groups such self-esteem group, check-in group, relaxation group, mental illness/chemical dependency group and mental health support group.
