Fonda Knudson “Real Life Stories” Videos Posted
Region 4 South Adult Mental Health Consortium has produced another six “Real Life Stories,” an ongoing series of on-camera interviews with individuals who have been diagnosed with a mental illness. These individuals share their journey and offer fresh perspective to anyone who views their story.

“My life’s had many experiences in the last twenty years to my journey or wellness and recovery.”
Fonda’s personal and professional experiences serve her well as Northwest Regional Resource Center Coordinator. In addition to having served on several non-profit board of directors, she has made a name for herself in her hometown by advocating for consumers’ rights and fighting against stigma and discrimination. Fonda now works to expand her success in the Fergus Falls area, educating others about psychiatric disorders and recovery-based mental health care.
With two married sons and three grandchildren, Fonda relishes her role as mother and grandmother. “Who would have thought this was possible. They only had hope mom would be part of their life someday. The trust in my higher power, one day at a time, educating myself, reaching out, making choices, are only a few of the actions I have had to do, to get to where I am today.” An animal lover, Fonda also enjoys spending time with her many pet dogs, cats and birds.
